Season 2 is going to be great, lets take a minute to refresh our memories of 13 Reasons Why Season 1. The episode starts with Clay finding the tapes on his doorstep. As he starts listening to the tapes he finds that they have been recorded by his recently deceased friend Hannah Baker. She talks about her first kiss with Justin Foley. But he takes a picture of her which is circulated around the school. She is constantly betrayed by people around her. She is stalked by Tyler Dawn who takes a compromising picture of her which is again circulated around the school. She has just one friend Clay Jensen, but due to some misunderstandings even they move apart. So she has no friends and she does not share anything with her mom. She hits rock bottom when she is raped by Bryce Walker. She tries to talk to the school counselor  but nobody listens to her. She makes up her mind to take her own life. Before that she decides to record 7 tapes which contain 13 Reasons Why she is committing suicide. After she commits suicide Liberty high is in shock. Clay has the tapes and decides to pass on the tapes to the student counselor Mr. Porter. He also includes the tape which has Bryce Walker’s confession about raping Hannah. Hannah’s former friend Jessica was also raped by Bryce while she was drunk and unconscious. Jessica tells her father about the rape.

The first season was so intense and emotional that therapy dogs had to be present at all times. Selena Gomez was supposed to be cast as Hannah Baker when Universal Studios bought film rights to the novel in 2011. In 2015 it was announced that Netflix will be making a TV series with Selena as an executive producer.

A warning has been issued by the show and the cast that this show might not be suitable for some viewers.

13 Reasons Why Season 2 will continue to deal with Hannah Baker suicide, which has had a strong impact on the students of Liberty High. It will show a different side of Hannah’s tapes and the audience will find that their understanding of Season 1 is not so accurate. This is logical as tapes were from Hannah’s perspective.

Jessica Davis will be playing the lead in 13 Reasons Why Season 2 and will deal with the things surrounding her rape. It seems that the rapist Bryce Walker will face justice for raping Hannah and Jessica.

13 Reasons Why Season 2 will focus on how a sexual assault victim faces the day to day chores and recovers from the trauma. All the different ways in which sexual assault has happened in the past have been documented in the show.
